I think diet helps a lot. I had asthma and linked it to processed cooking oils including canola, I start wheezing about 30 minutes after eating foods cooked with them.

Try rubbing alittle bit of peppermint oil under your nose. It works very well for opening your nasal passages. I use it every night to help keep me from snoring.
