The flu epidemic is becoming so severe in the US that one school district has cancelled all classes until Tuesday of next week. Your tales of the flu?

@4meAndyou I want cheesecake and pizza ;) 😋🍰🍕🥂 !

Haven't had it for twenty years but people-some young -are dying of it here.Once missed three weeks of school with it-seems sensible to cancel classes although I have never heard of it happening here.Silly people who struggle into work with it should be arrested!!

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I think we have forgotten, in this day of modern medicine...that quarantine is often the most useful way to contain a disease vector. Unfortunately, employers don't factor that in to employee absentee records. People with children, for example, are forced to use their own 13 days of paid sick time to care for sick children. That is changing now, in some companies....but until it does change, people will come in when they are sick. My employer paid for flu shots for everyone...but the shots are useless, as this is a mutated virus. People are dying.
@4meAndyou Of course. Once a person IS sick: They must quarantine themselves and receive proper medial care.
@TheSirfurryanimalWales [big][c=#002673]YOU HAVE THE FLU!!!!!

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT......[/c][/big]😂😂😂
My tale is that I have not had the flu in over a decade. Ditto for the bogus flu vaccine.

Look, it doesn't take a genius to understand, and understand YEARS ago that it's poison. The vaccine: it is a poison and USELESS in fighting influenza.

Anyhow. It's as simple as our bodies require specific vitamins and minerals to survive and thrive.
One is vitamin D, which ONLY the sun can give us. NO FOOD can provide this.

Vitamin D is the vitamin which my former doctor who is an autoimmunity disease specialist called the Happy Vitamin.
Over a decade ago, she advised me to take 3, 000 IU/day of it.
Now, I take closer to 10,000 IU. It is VITAL to us.

It is VITAL for our immune system. So. For ALL OF US, who live in colder latitudes , this is the Equation.
Farther from the Equator =
LESS sunshine exposure =
LESS of Vitamin D =
LOWERED IMMUNITY TO ALL DISEASES, INDUCING AND NOT LIMITED TO THE FLU.

[c=#002673][big]You must take vitamin D supplements.[/big][/c]

The end :)

OMG. The hospital is so crazy busy. People are waiting a long time for a room!
4meAndyou · F
@Barelygettingby I hate hearing that. They are probably sitting out in the ER waiting room infecting dozens of people....and I can't imagine having the flu and not being in bed.
Barelygettingby · 56-60, F
I know but there are so many, there is no where to put them! They do wear masks in the ER waiting room.
4meAndyou · F
@Barelygettingby That's a relief. I had to go to the ER with the flu once, and they had us on rolling carts out in the hallways.

My bf and I have it and it's brutal. It really sucks because I have really bad asthma and I always end up in urgent care or the emergency room! Scary stuff. I'm so grateful for my nebulizer.
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User I heard about that on the news. It's the smartest thing anyone has done, closing down schools....and I can't imagine the grief of losing a child...let alone losing a child to something we have regarded as not too serious in past years.

@4meAndyou well stay healthy! Power up on veggies and vita c. Zinc too😉
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User Thank you. 💕
Peaches · F
I don't get flu shots anymore, every time I do I get sick?!😕
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Peaches You either have an allergy, are getting the wrong flu shot, or getting a flu shot in the wrong place.

For serious, getting a flu shot somewhere that is not the doctor office is usually safer. Because sick people congregate at the doctor office, you may be warding off the flu while exposing yourself to other nasties.
Peaches · F
@ViciDraco I'll pass...

Hi 4meandyou. There a small cough epidemic actually in England. Nothing major. But many people are coughing. Only thing? No runny nose and no sore throat! 😨 one person has it fair enough. But more than 15???
4meAndyou · F
@Sazzio We have had a flu here in the USA that is killing people...young healthy people.
Sazzio · 31-35, M
@4meAndyou Oh thas sad.
Rocknrod · 61-69, M
Seen a lot of people on here complain about having the flu.
4meAndyou · F
@Rocknrod That is so awful. Their poor parents.
Rocknrod · 61-69, M
It definitely isn't picky about who or what age it takes.
Peaches · F
@4meAndyou They said the same thing last year?!😶
SerenitiesScars · 31-35, M
I've been coughing for over 2 weeks now.. Shit is annoying and sucks..
4meAndyou · F
@SerenitiesScars I hope the cough goes away soon. 😯
SerenitiesScars · 31-35, M
It's gotten less and less... Fortunately..
3venus · F
Nothing really interesting. Just chills, medicine, and a lot of Gatorade.
SW-User
Haven’t heard of any severe cases where I’m am.
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User That's wonderful. This flu strain has actually killed some young, healthy adults.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Haven't had to go to hospital, but five days of aches, fever, and intense chills. It's finally fading only to be followed up with the freaking common cold. So blegh.
4meAndyou · F
@ViciDraco It sounds awful. I tried to order some Thera-Flu through the mail and they are sold out. I wanted to have medicine in the house in case I get it.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Does it really help? This thing basically laughed at the vaccine I got this year.
4meAndyou · F
@ViciDraco Thera-flu is just an OTC medication, not a vaccine. And you are correct, vaccinations are ineffective because this virus has mutated.
