Which gyms have you held memberships to and did you like them or not?

If you’ve been a member of more than one gym why did you prefer one over the other?
I liked the Big named gyms because they had all the equipment anyone could possibly need BUT they were either over crowded or pumped full of posers.

My favourite gym was this little place in my town at the time, dirt cheap. Out back of some industrial area. With some seriously heavy weights. The guys and girls who went there were strictly into building and toning.

It was 24/7 and everything was raw. No fancy BS just you and some weight.

we have one near here that is locally owned combination of Planet Fitness and a serious gym. There are a number of rooms so people gravitate to their preference. I'm thinking of going back as I can't get outside to walk as the weather has been so bad.
Hahaha

A post about "Crack" ice cream followed by TWO posts about Gyms........

LOL..... (or maybe I just have a weird sense of humor...)
@KaysHealingPath
small pint like this lasts me more than 2 weeks
In my house that would last 2 minutes (or 2 seconds if my kid saw it first....)
"Dad, why this ice cream taking up valuable freezer space?"

@Threepio haha yeah i can see that
My kids would eat a whole quart if I let them, but that’s a big no no. I don’t usually buy sweets and when I do my oldest wants to eat them in 1 sitting- usually while already thinking of his next “snack”
But I’ve been working with him on portion control.

He won’t tough MY sweets when I do buy them.
I’m so jealous of him too because he’s so slim 5’1.5” & 100lbs (all bone and muscle lol)
@KaysHealingPath With mine "chips" are his main "kryptonite".

Little does he know that starting next month (when mom goes overseas) he will have to make them if he wants to eat them......

Probably close to 10 different gyms over the years, back in the 80's most were small private ones.. but the better larger nationwide ones were Golds gym and 24 hour fitness... i preferred Golds but 24hr fitness was good too

I have a Y membership because they not only have workout and running areas but a sauna, whirlpool and huge swim pool.
