So I have all of my referrals down, now just waiting for insurance approval... insurance sucks.

Should just go to Mexico or Canada and out of pocket my medical expenses....

Canadians- are there cash options for non Canadians to get medical treatment?
Depends upon what you need.

Years ago, I used to be able to "negotiate" with my doctor. Cash talks. And hospitals will always negotiate if you can afford to CC or pay cash.

On the other hand, I never have been able to get a dentist that would negotiate for cash. But I did finally buy into a "Family discount dental plan" (not insurance, but a discount plan). $200/yr and we have saved thousands over the past couple of years by having a discount plan vice dental insurance.

@Threepio or we can go to Mexico and pay $35 per root canal or $150 -$300 per dental implant with out bone graft and with bone graft respectively...
At a pretty good hospital in the city.

But dental is not what I need.

MRI’s that I need for my brain can’t be negotiated.

I do have a surgeon who offers a cash rate for a TAC which I do need and that’s $7k vs the $37k if I go with my insurance that only covers after a $12k deductible 😬

Those can get expensive.... a simple Brain scan here is $1K.

@Threepio yep and mine usually go for about 90 minuets with contrast and that’s just the head one labs are not negotiable as well 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes I’ve seen the fee schedule at emergency. Mexico would be cheaper.

@SW-User I have to be crippled over in pain before going to the ER
