Does it bother you that somebody you love died because they didn't have enough money to line the greedy hospital pockets?

Affordable health care? Why do they use "care" in the word healthcare? They always have an excuse why your loved one died but its rarely explained or even covered up about not having enough money to pay for existing procedures.
It's appalling that in a country that absurdly proclaims itself to be the leader of the free world healthcare is considered a privelige not a right.

I am sorry for your loss.

Yes, it would bother me. As both a medical practitioner and a potential family member of a patient.

Prices of procedures are defined by hospital administrators based on costs they have to pay themselves including to insurance companies.

There are organisations in the US that can help with medical bills. Though I realize not everyone recieves or qualifies, more people must reach out to those organisations. It's the only available and direct solution now.

That's sadly what happens in a country where there is not a Nationally funded Health System open to all

And sadly it happens every day.
@LyricalOne It is said that well over 50000 Americans will die this year because of this. I don't think this is accurate. I see it happening all around me and it really seems to have exploded right around 2010. I think that number is much higher. My dad was 49. They forced him to sell his estate over the course of ten years before he died.

@IndianaJoes I’m so sorry he- and you- had to experience that. Hardworking people being thoroughly demoralized during the toughest times of their life. Something is seriously wrong with this picture.
My dad died in Indiana usa. The hospitals are monopolized. America is a master of misinforming its people. Lieing is perfectly legal. Hilary amd Obahma proved that. Hospitals, Insurance companies and lobbiests are all in the same boat. In 1998 it cost employers over $4000 dollars per year per family. In 2012 its over $12000.

It's not usually the hospitals that are greedy, it's the private health insurance companies.
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
@BlueMetalChick It's both, how I understood it. They both get rich off of it.

Yep, that video really sums it up in short tense. Its a lot deeper than that but does cover the basics . hmmm.... Why did everybody get so quite? Did the cat bite your toungue and nobody wants to pay $14766 to have it checked out? No big deal. If your tounge gets infected... Just go to Rural king and buy some penicillin G for hogs and a syringe. Draw up 3ccs, use a 1"" needle. Back draw to make sure you arent in a vein, (YouTube how to inject yourself first but it is simple regardless of who lied to you). upper outer quadrant in your hip and infection will be gone in two days. Cost is $13 dollars. Old farmer trick. Yes it says for veterinary use only. FDA lies too. They want them to make money too. Know that doctors use heart valves and skin graphs from hogs to be used on humans. Google it. If we the people don't start educating ourselves on this healthcare crap... It will never be brought back under control. Point made!
@IndianaJoes and yes it sucks that some of the people who contribute the most to paying taxes has to live like this so they can buy a brand new Mercedes every month. Have you ever watched those private parking spots at the hospital? I DO!. So much for a conscience. Hard to truly care without that.

We don't have that problem with medicare here
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Thevy29 You must not be in America. Unfortunately, the US hasn't caught up with the rest of the modernized world and still insists that "free market healthcare" is a good idea.
@Thevy29 I you are a single middle aged male who has worked all your life and makes over $17000 per year... You don't get medicare.
