Why is it the less I eat the more I gain weight?

I haven't eaten anything today besides a little dinner in hope to bring down my weight again, but instead, i gain 4 pounds. I feel horrible like I will never lose weight.

starvation mode your body will start to try to store everything you eat
SW-User
it can.. try eating more protein and less carbs plus space out meals through out the day so your body continues to burn it.

Thanks but its hard to motivate myself
SW-User
well eventually it becomes a routine. just like with running. you start at some place than you just keep going.
Are you burning fat or just sitting around and doing nothing? If you’re doing nothing and not eating it’s not like you’re doing anything to lose the weight. Plus it’s not just food that gives you that weight.
You ate 4 to 5 miles? 😅

I guess the real problem is I hate my body and my fat thighs. I wish I weight below 130 I've been 131 before when I stopped eaten before and I am slowly wanting to go back

@RowBoGirl you gotta realise that people are build differently. Some people carry more weight on their upper body and some more on their lower body. Plus you run. So it's probably mainly muscle.

well u wont be losing any weight unless if youre actually doing some work to lose it...so "eating a little dinner" won't help lol

I told you I thought fasting was a bad idea. Your body is supposed to have three meals a day or it just doesn't function right.
SW-User
thats the problem

You ate before you went to bed.

You are suppose to eat heavy in day time then eat little for dinner
SW-User
@Tellica then why do i not put on weight?
breakfast is the most important meal of the day
Tellica · 22-25, F
@SW-User I agree on that. But its the amound of calories that you take. If I were to eat macdonalds as breakfast and macdonalds as lunch and drink soda's all day and and don't eat dinner I'm still gonna gain weight.
SW-User
@Tellica aww mayne, i didnt mean it like that.

In the morning, pig out - macdonalds maybe

for lunch, something with rice - less meat, less calory food, more fibre...

for dinner - alot lesss calories and more fibre
if you want to Lose weight eat multiple small meal to activate your metabolisim eating less is NOOO GOOD 3 mealsa day isa must wight loss or not LPN nurse student

Not eating at all accept for one Dinner doesn't work. Try the 'My Fitnesspall' app to keep track of your calories. It does really work.

By not eating enough your body stores the fat thinking it will need it. Eat three meals a day and don't forget the water.
SW-User
do weigh yourself daily? because that's a big no no
SW-User
@RowBoGirl You're not going to see any weight changes if u weigh yourself 3 times a day. Your weight fluctuates by the hour. If you're going to weigh yourself constantly then weigh yourself once a day, on the same spot, same clothing, right after going to the bathroom (in the morning after waking up). Even with that your weight will still fluctuate,it works best when you weigh yourself once a week or twice a month.
RowBoGirl · 22-25, F
Once a week... that would be very hard for me
SW-User
@RowBoGirl Day by Day will dissapoint you. I went up 5 pounds on my scale one day and 3 days later i was down one pound (from my original weight). Day by day is very innacurate.
SW-User
Gotta runnnn
Skipping meals slows your metabolism. Your body goes into “starvation” mode and holds fast to any fat or sugar it encounters. Eat smaller portions, with a larger percentage of veggies and proteins, less fat or carbs. But eat.
RowBoGirl · 22-25, F
@bijouxbroussard Thank you I am doing my best
@RowBoGirl Last year I was diagnosed with diabetes and had to change my eating habits to regulate my blood sugar. With the changes I lost weight as well. But I didn’t have to starve myself. Best of luck to you.
