anyone ever beat ocd on their own, no professional help?

I have ocd and am trying to beat it. I've already made great strides but still have difficulty with it.

I'm a touch OCD..the best way to treat is with CBT..first accept that u have it..then become willing to change behavior when u're aware what u're doing. For me it's counting stuff..every time I want to count the steps or stairs, I say STOP..and it works!

Get a few books, Brain Lock and The Imp of the Mind both really helped me but I did have professional help in my 20's. I have very little issues at all now but it did take a lot of CBT therapy and work.

Yes I've found larger outlets help. I focus on my health and responsibilities. Smoke weed.

Weed is a temporary solution to a lasting issue.

@suburbs weed helps me manage, there is no solution. The longer you chase perfection the worse it'll be. I also have PTSD so fuck off.

@Silverfox420 OCD isn't PTSD, and there is a solution to OCD (I have a lengthy family history of OCD, and have it myself), so fuck off.
