Haven't been in one in years, a shame really. The smell of aging paper, the stillnes and quiet. It really is a sanctuary from the hectic, distracted world we live in.
Funny you should say that. I've been thinking of going for those exact same reasons. I love it. The one in town now has a huge fireplace with a red leather couch in front of it. All the better. It also has lots of huge windows to enjoy what's going on outside, too.
It surely [i]will[/i] be a shame, if the current attempts to cut ALL government funding for public libraries succeed.
I just visited my own local public library yesterday, as I have often done throughout my life.
