I Support All Military Soldiers
I must say, I have a special heart for our firemen and our military, and it just keeps getting warmer.
We have over 2000 firemen in our area fighting the big fire right now. We also have three military schools in our area, not to mention the Coast Guard station. This past week, I saw others interact with these service people and smiled.
At my favorite grocery store, there were a couple of fire trucks parked in the lot. Within the family in the line next to me, was a girl probably about 6 or 7, who convinced her mom to buy food for the firemen. They had these items put these items in a separate bag and the girl carried it out. As we all exited the store, she hurried to one of the trucks, and a fireman stepped out. They interacted for a moment, and he knelt down and gave her a big hug in thanks.
The next day, a group of young men in their army khakis were running along our bike path when a teenager fell off his bike. Looked like he ran over a small rock and lost control. Although they are normally being timed during their run, three of them stopped to help him. One of them took the time to make sure the bike was in good condition to ride again before sending him on his way... It's things like this that enforce my love and support for these people.
