I wandered alone by the waters edge,
a lonely girl was I.
I gazed out over the rolling hills.
and looked up at the sky.

Life had not been kind to me,
tho to others I had tried.
My heart was hurting and I was sad,
and tears fell down my cheeks as I cried.

I knew somehow I must go on,
a life I still had to live.
So I stood up and took a deep breath,
I wiped my tears and in myself I started to believe.

There is no wrong in loving others,
even when it's not returned.
For our hearts are forged by fire,
even after the pain of the burn.
