Well...you got used to him. So now you have to remove all of that from your "typical", even the ok & good parts.
It was a significant relationship. You don't have to be over it on a fixed schedule. And some parts...SOME parts...well, you might come to cherish them forever, if there were some bits of real love there. 😊

@lulaluboo Awwww...it's ok. It's part of the complexity of love and real relationships. You are just feeling all the bits...you will be fine. 😊
But you might need these:
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
and maybe one of these
🐶🐕 or these 🐱🐈
but have a nice hot bath 🛀 a hot drink 🍵 some chocolate 🍫
and have a good sleep 🛏🌛
and then wake up tomorrow with a new day & a fresh attitude 🌞

@lulaluboo Well, then please use them as you will.
Sorry he was angry, cruel, & violent...with that, you might want to read up on the Stockholm syndrome... 😣

I think year to 18 months easily if it was a genuine long-term relationship.
SWisGoingWoke · M
@PhilDeep depends on the spouse.
Attachment is hard to overcone, even to messed up people sometimes
@TheBlackPowerRanger can be very. Yes. Thank you for acknowledging.
It will always affect if you truly loved them.

@Aliveshock Precisely. Unless it was just some passing fancy or infatuation.

For a toxic relationship it can take years, but that doesn't mean that you'll feel bad for years. You can close those gaps in your life in a matter of months. It's just the residual bad dreams and occasional slumps that take longer to fully get over.

I don't have an ex spouse, just an ex.. "whatever he was". It's been a couple of years and I'm still not completely there.
