I wonder if they appreciate it

I always wonder if people who reside in really beautiful cities appreciate it. 馃

Like do they ever just stop to look around and admire the sights, the sounds, the beauty of the architecture, the smell of the bakeries and restaurants around them? The lull of traffic and construction and faraway sirens that indicate a bustling thriving place? Do they notice the fall colors in the trees, and how beautifully they enrich the city? Do they feel like one of the useful functioning cogs in the city machine? In a strange sense, that feeling always made me feel safe when I lived in the city.

I am definitely a city girl at heart and I can't wait to get back to one. 馃彊馃グ

I live in a small, historic, attractive, vibrant and internationally renowned University City which I greatly appreciate. It鈥檚 only downside is that much of the year it鈥檚 inundated with tourists - I guess you can鈥檛 have everything 馃槀馃槀

Depends on the company. Time spent in beautiful surroundings with someone you trust completely is magical. If you don't like who you're with, the city won't be enough

I鈥檓 lucky enough to live close enough to a city to enjoy the positives but far enough away to avoid the negatives. Also can head the opposite direction and be in the wilderness too!

For every positive there is at least one negative. There are parts of my city that I adore, but after 20 years here I can鈥檛 romanticize it anymore.

Don't forget the smell of turds on the sidewalk and lots of tents that is what they have in San Francisco now.
