I Have Lost People I Love From Cancer

Grief seems to bring out your vulnerability and also a strong longing to be with people that you love. Something changed in me when my dad died; my tolerance for bullshit went down dramatically. I only wanted to be around genuine, real people and I felt a longing to be with someone that I hadn't talked to for some time. I didn't even realize my feelings.

Me too, my dad and my grandfather passed from it the other year.
We don't really process things properly until some time has passed i've come to realise. We hide certain things until we can deal with them and aspects about ourselves we didn't know about come to the surface.

Sorry about losing your dad. I lost mine a few weeks back, and my wife about a year ago and i can relate to what you're saying. It does make you less tolerant to BS that's for sure.

@Will0w Yeah, it's hurts us a lot when we start losing people (and pets) that we care about. It's only started to ease up for me because i've basically run out of people to lose. I still have my sister but now i'm a lot more protective of her.
