I Have Lost People I Love From Cancer

Last week, I had a few days’ visit with my dad. It was the first time I’d seen him since my mom died last November. (We’ve been talking on the phone and emailing; just had not had an in-person visit till now.)

We visited with some family members - including Mom’s sister, and a female cousin of my dad that my mom really liked. I’m feeling kind of sad that Mom couldn’t be there. She would have enjoyed seeing them.

My dad was just diagnosed stage 4. Fright now awaiting the inevitable. Are you ok?

@St0ut Yes. I’ll never really be the same again. But it gets better with time.

Cancer had taken many people I love ,just weeks ago my cousin and band member
My son in law is the Only one I know to have beat it
It was in the roof of his mouth ,his tongue ,the back of his throat ,his tonsils
And he beat it ,,3 yrs not signs of it returning
But everyone I know except him ,seems they tell them one month
the next month they are gone
I think its better they go quick and not sick from treatment
If I am ever diagnosed ,I want to just live out my days ,I don't want to spend the end of my life sick
My son in laws co pays were also $500.00 a day ,had not our church and other agencies helped ,no way they could have paid that
Sorry for your loss
I have lost Mom ,Dad and a Brother ,it is tough when you know your it
The people you turned to all your life are gone
But Dad is still in my head
Often when I am stumped I still hear Dad walking me through a trouble shoot
Mom was a crap stirring person ,she could divide the family with a few words
but I miss her too
Lost my dad to cancer two years ago
Sad times, Kat....

He will have a tough time of it, for a while, maybe forever now. When he is alone and everything is quiet, then those memories will flood him. There isn't much you can do either.
