The Road to Perdition?

How do you think politics and the urgent desire for re-election is going to figure in the roadway out of Covid19 centred restrictions now? Are they getting ready to extend because of the Indian variant? What should we think about their constant resistance to doing what the Prime Minister of New Zealand did which has resulted in a firm control of Covid infection? Or do you argue that the population differences make a difference? Shouldn't we just close the ports to everything except food imports?
