I Am Fascinated By Human Behavior

There are timea when I think life was better in the past when men and women both knew their roles; men provided and protected and women stayed home and took care of the house and kids. There was no doubt who did what. Then again I'm glad I live in a generation where women can support themselves since I never got married.

There's nothing wrong with traditional roles however. People think women's "rights" started a 100+ years ago. Ask a Viking female who kept the keys to the food and who was allowed to divorce her husband and could own property. An ancient example but a true one:)

Everyone should be able to choose. You can choose a role from an earlier time if you prefer, or you can choose something new.

I grew up in a family where dad took over a lot of the roles. I’m not sure if mom’s COPD affected her that early on or what.

I don’t know how “roles” really come about because chores in our house were gender less. Everybody cleaned. Boys and girls mowed the lawn.

@SW-User Roles in our house were very gender specific. Dad worked and Mom cooked. I was shocked when I was 7 and saw a man cook on TV. I was like, "men cook? That s even possible?" I ran and asked Mom abt it. Now men cook all the time but back then in my family it just wasn't done.

Getting married is more hassle than what its worth

@Barebum61 For women yes, men have it easier.
