$6500 for a Christmas tree?

A link to the story is included below.

In short, it says that one tree vendor in New York City is selling 20-foot Fraser firs for $6500. A few blocks away, however, you can get the same tree for “only” $2000.

The reported reason is the shortage of trees this year. Don’t worry though. That price includes delivery and installation...

I understand some of these are being purchased for apartment building lobbies and the like. Even still, that seems insane to me.

People in New York are probably so used to outrageous prices that they don’t question it. Then that emboldens sellers to charge even higher prices.

I assume they gold plate the tree once you pick it out and give you a diamond studded stand.

The link didn’t post for some reason. Just do a search and you’ll find the story.

Insane would be putting it mildly

Wow. That seems exorbitant.

Even the $2000 one is insane.
