I Am Fascinated By Human Behavior

Why do parents/teachers get mad and yell when kids don't do well? I remember that very well when I was growing up, especially in elementary school. Even in college I had a couple of professors get mad and yell. One was a terrible teacher and got mad when most kids failed. He didn't teach, just gave tests all the time. They might have legitimately wanted kids to perform well but mostly handled it by yelling and trying to bully the kid into doing better in stead of trying to help. Of course I know part of it is adults use kids as scapegoats.

It's venting their frustration over their inability to get information across. While it's not useful and perhaps is harmful to the student's desire to learn I definitely understand how frustrating it can be when you think you've explained something well yet the listener still doesn't understand.
