I don鈥檛 keep snakes (or snacks馃槀)in my truck for the same reason. I only eat one meal a day, but I鈥檓 too weak to just have food sitting around and not eat it.
I always do that. What I do now is hide some snacks and then try to forget about them. If I'm really desperate, I'll go searching and when I find them, I'm overjoyed!
