As much as I've sympathized with people whose SOs cheated on them,

I'll never be able to put myself in the headspace of someone who's upset at their SO for cheating. Like it makes sense on a conceptual, intellectual level -- they lied to you and maybe you feel like you're not special to them anymore or something, sure. But it's like, deeper than that I'll never get that emotional sense of why it hurts people, you know? It's weird.
