I Am Sad

My mac is sick and I'm terrified the hard drive will be wiped. And no. I haven't backed up in quite sometime which as a student, is absolutely foolish of me 😒

Any mac users experienced the image above?

There is a chance (even after your ⌘-R adventures, below) that your FILES are still intact on the disk, and only your system files are messed up. If that is the case, then Apple people can help save your files then fix your system files... but it is important that you DON'T try anything else on your own, as you may be making it worse.

This is serious: take it to the Apple store. After that, stop at Best Buy and get a 1 TB external USB drive, and start regular backups.

try a Safe Boot.
hold down the shift key when you turn it on.
and hold it till after you hear the start up sound
let me know.. there are other things if that does not work

I've had my Mac for 8 years and not had a problem. Is there anything in that folder? Corrupted file? Will it still let u do a back up. Maybe just of your important files.
