I Loved You Then, I Love You Now And I Will Love You Always

I miss you, Bobby. I loved you when we were both little kids, and you loved me.

I love you now. I remember our passion in first and second grade. Oh, those long kisses. The tight holds of our hands. And those hugs. Oh, yes, those HUGS. Usually, the old-lady or old-maid teachers tried to discourage even "baby" love. But I saw them see us as they stood at the end of the hall and smiled at us. I guess they thought it was "cute" and really not serious.

But what do grownups know?

The last time I saw you, and we talked for ever so long, we were adults then. But the last thing you said to me was "Give me a hug."

Arms around the neck, my head against yours - and WOW! I was seven years old for one more time. I felt the rushing passion in the beat of my heart.

You were my very first boyfriend - and I will love you always.

And remember you, too.

I'm glad you experienced that kind of love

@SW-User Thank you. It's nice to know someone understands the way I felt. People I sometimes tell this story to get that "Aww..that was CUTE" look on their face, and I know what they are thinking. Apparently, they confuse "puppy love" with "REAL love."

@MaryJanine it can be real, intense and sweet.

@SW-User Ours was. There's something special about being the only girl in the first grade to go to an all-boys birthday party - like I did for Bobby.
That´s so wonderful to read, how happy you have been with Bobby. Any chance to see him again? Our first love is always very special and surely nothing to forget for the rest of our lives. And of course, Kids can feel real, deep love, why should any one ever doubt that? Kids can feel that love for their parents, siblings, grandparents and so on, so why not for another kid, a friend?

@RobinPhoenix When I was growing up und in love mit Bobby (circa 1961 - 1962), teachers didn't approve of kids kissing und hand holding in school. But we did both in full view und nobody interfered. As to seeing him again - well, I don't know exactly where he moved to. He lived with his mother until she died of dementia complications, and then he sold the house. But I would love to see him again - he's one gut hugger!
