What about the Caste System, the raping of women, throwing acid on women, arranged marriages all condoned by these village courts. Yes India has come a long way but still has a long way to go.

i agree there are crimes being committed against women but that can only stop when the thinking of the people change & its changing .Also women empowerment is a global issue we cannot blame one country for all the crimes being done against women worldwide @iagreed

@Calmsoul I suppose it depends on what you define as a short time! I admire the way it's progressed. I've never been to India but I love what I see of the culture and the beautiful colourful clothing.
