I Want to Thank Our Veterans
For me, it's difficult to say "Happy Veterans Day". Sure we are "celebrating" our Veterans. Ok, I get it. But to me, we should be thanking our veterans who have been through so many hardships protecting us. They have lost many friends, some even best friends. We should hug our Veterans and let them know how appreciative we are. We should remember them in our hearts. Not just look at is as another holiday where we have the opportunity to go lay on the beach.
Yesterday, a veteran came into my shop in a wheelchair. He fought in two wars and lost one of his legs. Luckily, he was strong and still participating in the loves of life. Not like others who just stay home, watching tv, saying that they are unable to go anywhere. This guy was getting out and with the help of friends, getting in a kayak and paddling. I am making him a pair of neoprene shorts with extra padding so that he can sit more comfortably in the kayak.
The way I showed my appreciation was with a 30% discount and a big hug. I think he was happy to know that he's appreciated.
Hug and thank a Veteran today.
