What moments or events during your childhood shaped who you are now?

Probably the biggest event that shaped me was my father getting into trouble with the Communist Party, even though most of that happened right before and just after I was born. It set off a chain of events that led to a very sad and sometimes frightening childhood.

I think it would be the time my bestfriend kissed me. We were only 7 or 8. He said he wanted to try it since we always sae it on tv and in movies. In my young mind it was amazing. I've never looked at girls or boys at that age, but after that kissi only looked at boys. When it came to girls i of course thought they were pretty and things like that, but never anything intimate. It was that kiss that awakened me.
