I Am Doing A 100 Day Song Challenge

20 years ago one of the bigger Italian songwriters (maybe the biggest) died.

[b]Fabrizio De Andrè[/b], dozens and dozens of his songs are true poetries, singing about 'common' subjects' such as love and emotions, friends, but also political and controversial stuff, anarchy, gipsies, pacifism, prostitutes, assassins, the dark and light of the cities where he lived and human nature, etc.
He was also a christian but very critical about the church of Roma.

Sometimes at his gigs he almost didn't sing, but talked about current social and political problems of that time, or talking about them with new songs.

He surely wouldn't define himself an intellectual, but his head was golden and in 40 years of musical activity he influenced culture and even other poets and writers. Even being totally not attached to fame and money his talent was recognized by other music artists around the whole world.

They released a film about him last year if I find a English subbed version, I'll post it.

Now, some of his many masterpieces. Masterpiece is a very fit word.
