Who "fact checks" the "fact checkers" and how do they know all the facts?
So-called "fact checkers" did not exist until truth began being told, and the MSM could not convince everyone to believe their lies.

Ideally, fact checkers fact check other fact checkers, and in theory, good fact checking is supposed to appeal to viewers.
The prevalence of alternate facts and the popularity of self professed rhetorical hyperbole as a legitimate source of such alternative facts does seem to be an indication that this theory has problems.
As to the second point, fact checking has actually been around for awhile, although it has grown more popular thanks to people like Roger Ailes, Alex Jones, and of course serial liars in office.
