Why is getting drunk and drinking alcoholic beverages prohibited among God’s people? Are there consequences even to social drinking?

Getting totally wasted...the person is out of control, can't think clearly. Can easily kill someone. That's why. Some wine sometimes is probably not prohibited anywhere

It's not universally condemned to drink alcohol OR to get drunk.. it's only some religious groups/sects.. Most are not so judgemental
