I Hate Guys Who Hit Women

[image]Let me show you her life, it's really not fair
She's just a woman, all nails, make up & hair
She makes herself pretty, for all to concur
Because she don't want you to think ill of her
But you see behind her make up hides a secret that's dark
You see her face carries a lifetime of marks
It started not long after they met
The first time he uttered a cold, icy threat
Followed by the thud of his fist in her face
She thinks she must have forgotten her place
You see she chose an outfit that was not to his taste
And her punishment let her feel his disgrace
Soon after she got the "I'm sorry honey" speech
But it still felt like he had a lesson to teach
To put her in check, to correct her ways
And on most occasions her life went by in a daze
You see she can't remember all the details now
Not since the hammer hit just above her brow
He swore it was a mistake and wouldn't happen again
But it was just another day, another link in her chain
For you see, she's no longer, she's just a dream
And all because nobody took notice of her scream
He hit her so hard that she didn't come round
And he just left her there, in a heap, on the ground
The neighbors they'd heard all the cries and commotion
And even saw him leave the house, he was described as ‘devoid of emotion'
You see he killed her that day because she wanted some air
Her friends had always told her to beware
But now it's too late and she was too scared
Killed by the one whose life she had shared
He claimed she had fell, and he wasn't at home
But in her hair they found bits of chrome
They found he's hurt another before
So now he's locked so he can't hurt anyone anymore
But for her it's too late, she should have left him
My hope is this story will help someone's life be less grim.
