I Have Epilepsy

So, here I am at Stanford Hospital with 24 electrodes pasted to my head. There is a monitor on me at all times and a button to push at anytime I feel a seizure coming on. Last night they took me off one of my meds in hopes to induce the seizures. I hate having them, but it’s the only possibility of discovering just what’s going on. Fingers crossed.

Mom is coming back to spend the day here and challenge me to some scrabble games. It’s been a long time since we’ve had that chance.

Too much negativity and closed mindedness. We don’t need that here.

@Mert5356 could be a number of things with him. As @liafu says, he could be a stalker, he could be someone trying to get under someone’s skin, or he can be soooo closed minded and not believe that we don’t have a chance to discover and heal with modern medicine. My grandmother was the same way. If she couldn’t see it, you didn’t have it... not even an earache.
The last thing we need on this site is negativity. We are here to support and learn, the original thinking behind the site, not to ridicule. As you saw last night, I’ll give someone a chance, but if he/she continued down the same path without consideration, it will be deleted and blocked. We need each other.

@SW-User Thanks for this knowledge!😕
Hey there!

We were all wondering how it was going.

Yep, the first day at anything is always a doozie.
Some nervous anticipation at this point, definitely. The waiting is the hardest part - difficult, but necessary.
But it sounds like they've got you under close watch.
Hang in there Silent!

Fingers crossed.

I imagine right now you resemble something like this, with a similar scene playing out bedside:

Hope it goes well, my friend. An EEG cannot be comfortable. I accompanied a patient who was having one done. Enjoy your mom's visit. And I shall be thinking of you with light and love.

I hate them beyond hating them. The surgery process is so long that I don't want to go through it again even though it's possible as the seizure location is known in my mind.

Best of luck to you. I do hope they can figure out why.
I have seizures too - while I'm sleeping, so I never feel them coming on.
I have spasms where I'm half-aware and make a bunch of weird sounds. Happens most often when I get frustrated and tired.

I hope they figure it out soon. Best wishes.
