what is the easiest free blog site? i have tried a few and they were difficult to use and they kept bugging me for money

If you're tech savvy, jekyll blogs on github pages are free. Some people prefer it over WordPress because you can avoid the default layouts and style and really make it your own, if you know what you're doing.

I found wordpress pretty straightforward but ymmv. If you want really easy to use but clumsy to maintain, tumblr is pretty solid
