I Appreciate the Little Things In Life

I was at a fast food outlet with a friend. She sat at the table while I went to go self serve my beverage.

I stood for a few minutes thinking out loud what to choose. It’s a touch screen operating drinks machine where you swipe and press. My swiping and lack of decision making must’ve prompted a the young school aged boy of 8-10 yrs to assist me. He called out instructions as he walked over to stand beside me.

His mum noticed and called out to reprimand him and he interjected that he was only trying to help me.

I felt so overjoyed that this child came to my aid believing I may need help. Passing him I thanked him once again and nodded to his mother.

It’s these gems of helpfulness and kindness that make the world a brighter place.
