I Want to Make Friends

I wish I had friends to go out with. People my age I can connect with. I wish it was easy to make friends. I feel like the older you get the harder it seems. At this point I wish I had one genuine person in my life I could depend on.

I have become a lonely old lady. All my close friends and relatives have died or moved far away or are busy with their own problems and are ignoring me. It's been tough at times. It's harder to make new friends when you get older. I just moved to a new town a few months ago and at times I am a very lonely soul. Wish I knew some easy answers.

@Goldengirl22: I've joined a church. And it helps a little. I have a friend in the next town but she has a demanding job with a long commute. So I visit when I can. I live in the CA desert..

@greenmountaingal: I was thinking about saying church but wasn't sure if you're religious or not. I know my aunt is your age and she goes to church every morning and has made some friends going.

@Goldengirl22: I became a Christian last year. I really enjoy my church. In general, churches are friendly places. I have signed up to go on a women's retreat in Feb.

It's harder as you get older because once you're out of school and working, the number of people in your world shrinks, unless you're traveling the world. It's a matter of forcing yourself to do more and more things outside your comfort zone as you grow older. Treasure the genuine people you run across. They do not come along very often.

so your saying that if someone is not in the designated age group they are automatically ruled out as a friend. That's seems pretty shallow and kind of immature. What kind of friends are you talking about here ???? 🙃

Wow lobo look at you trying to bring others down when they are already down. Are you an oppurtunist? Do you take advantage when you see vulnerable People so you can feel more superior about yourself? Did something or someone make you feel small today and you want to feel a little bigger about yourself? Who Are you to point fingers at her when you dont even know her? Everyone is 2 faced. Everyone has a good side and a darker side. Whether they expose it externally or Just keep it internally Everyone does. Maybe People Are Tired of her being 2 faced and she should accept their flaws? If they cant accept her flaws why should she accept theirs? Look pal perhaps she Just hasnt found her People. People that accept her and focus more on her qualities than her flaws.
