I have many times passed through it every weekend but that was years ago Florida has changed so much in the last 20 yrs Naples was nothing last time I was there ,now its the Palm Springs of Florida But it was a fair size city last time I was through there I am sure its huge now Even the city I live in grows every time I go into town Every time I say if we let one more person into Florida they are going to smash us into the ocean They just tear down a condo so they can build another one taller and higher They can't go out any further ,so they go up . I am sure you will find plenty of things to do there and if not ,its just a few hours from Orlando ,there is everything to do there
@Arizonawriter Me too I went into mechanics and the Coast Guard to be a mechanic like my Dad a sailor like my Grandpa But I got my Grandson to go into aviation and not follow in my footsteps I wanted to go into the air force ,I love to fly I have several friends who own planes With my Grandson working on aircraft and me pushing him to get his pilots license so not only can he test fly the planes he works on ,He also has friends with planes my chances of getting to fly more often are increasing
This is my Grandson the tall one ,the little boy is my son and my son in law and the pilot ,he is with the civil air patrol
@Arizonawriter I have flown planes ,but I do not have a pilots licence but I do have friends that let me fly , but they are right there with the other yoke ,wheel ,stick ? I run boats ,heavy equipment locomotives and cranes ,dozers ,loaders ,stock pickers and fork lifts ,travel lifts (used to pull boats out of the water ) But I became disabled before I could go for my pilots licence But at least with him in aviation ,I will eventually get to do something I love with someone I love ..I raised him ,he is like my son too I am so proud of him ,I see his co worker is as tall in the pic he is the one in the Camo shirt ,he is only 19 and already a lead man He just got his AMP certification ,his boss said at a recent job fair It won't be long the way he works and attention to detail ,before he is running the place ,,LOL He is already making more money then I was at 19 but I was still in the Coast Guard ,but he is making more money then I made as a machinist for FEC Railroad too ,but that was quite some time ago
Depends on what you are looking for. There is good charter fishing, nice beaches that are not overly crowded most of the time. NASA at Cape Canaveral / Merritt Island is close enough for a day trip as is the Navy Seal museum at Ft Pierce. Good seafood markets / restaurants.
@Stillwaiting All good places ,lots of good things to do around Port Canaveral I would tell him my name and to check out our family restaurant but I am not outing myself here for the sake he may or may not eat there From Vero you can be almost anywhere in Florida in an hour or 2 Lots to do here ,it just depends what you're into I like the Canaveral tour though I haven't taken it in years (Most of my family works at the Cape ) I missed the Navy Seal museum ,,its been a while since I was there too Rowe Mullet season ,setting net in the Sub base almost got me shot as Ex Coast Guard ,the Navy nor the Coast Guard were impressed us delaying a sub coming in ,,they had to help us pull our nets We caught 8.500 lbs of fish ,,and they let us go Don Woods fisheries loved us ,we got the first catch of the season
