Ehhhh actually that is not correct. In the old testament (genesis) god gave man "dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”

So if the bible is to be taken literally then every other living thing is our bitch and we can treat them however we please.

And since god is the ideal being i guess we should treat them how god treats us: we should demand that they follow arbitrary and unnatural rules and then burn them alive when they inevitably fail to do so...then tell them we love them.

Well kind of depends on who you talk to. I've met a handful of people that claim the earth and animals only exist for human enjoyment so it's okay to abuse them both as God will fix all the damage. Ummm... No.

@canusernamebemyusername Yeah, that's the best way really. In my opinion although I do not eat meat. Respecting nature too is a big thing with me, I learned it from my Cherokee grandparents. :D

@Snowvixen Neat. I have Cherokee in mine as well. But I think it's only through marriage. Lol
I remember watching one of those survival shows and they killed a boar and one of the people said to give it time for its soul to leave its body. That was touching actually. I'm not sure his tribe though.

@canusernamebemyusername That is really touching. My ancestor who was a Cherokee Indian was forced to marry a white man to keep her land. My grandfather was cremated and when I asked why my mum said he wanted to become one with the earth again, I did not understand that until I got older. :D I agree with more of their ideals than anything.
