Pfuzylogic · M
In a silly mood, mind you!
@Pfuzylogic He had a hip replacement in the mid-90s, I think, and could no longer do the silly walk.
@Pfuzylogic No, really...Eric Idle mentioned it in a show in Sacramento in the late 90s.
Pfuzylogic · M
@SomeMichGuy
He was always very bold in his physical comedy. I don’t doubt it for a second.

@tindrummer I'm fine, thanks. How are you?

I haven't seen "Good Neighbors". Isn't that an American programme? It's an American spelling.
tindrummer · M
@HairbrushDiva Fine, thx.

Oh yeah, sorry. The Good Life there - Good Neighbors here.
HairbrushDiva · 31-35, F
@tindrummer "The Good Life" is good. I didn't know it had another title overseas.

@SirenCalledLuce Lucky you. I only get to visit once every few years. :-(

Thanks to all for those video clips

Having grown up with it I relate to British humour (not humor :)) and to British-ness in general. Used to belt out 'Land of Hope & Glory' with the best of them. But having moved on geographically and intellectually I now see Nationalism as a real curse on the world - The British Empire "by Freedom gained, by Truth maintained" - give me a break! I love Elgar's music but those lyrics ???

The Galaxy Song is one of my favourite pieces of musical humour. And lots of Gerard Hoffnung's stuff. I love Pam Ayres, and whoever that group is that did "Bugger the Bankers", plus lots more; not all British.

Long live the ability to laugh, especially at ourselves.

The Yanks loved him tho.....@Rhonda
Rhonda · F
@SW-User everone loved him except my nan who thought he was a filthy old man
SW-User
He was a very funny , very clever comedian. I don’t think history has been very kind to him because of the nature of his material. Very not PC nowadays. @Rhonda

Really · 80-89, M
@SW-User But Churchill was proud of being 'half American' when it suited him. Nationalism works that way, but your 'nationality' really depends only on where your mother was when she gave birth; unless of course you've gone through a bunch of legal mumbo-jumbo to "change" it. Would that make you any different?

@InOtterWords Happy to be ex-British. That can be seen as ambiguous (to anyone literate enough to notice) but life's like that. If you're open to thinking, you can view it any way you choose.
