I Like Intelligent People

Truly intelligent people.. Arrogance and a posh splash of curt sarcasm doesn't mean intelligence. It shows a good deal of cleverness which can be appreciated and some pseudo pride, which is fun to poke at. I guess I mean to say.. I like people who I can hold a conversation with mutually.. Despite even disagreements. I like people with an ability to debate, not just argue. I also like being proven wrong and especially being right. Heh..

I guess I also like learners, as opposed to "professionals." I like sharing ideas and communicating without fear of rejection and a sense of affirmation.. Being human, instead of robotic and stoic, because really.. Intelligence isn't a competition for the emotionless.. It's a competition for the passionate and emotional.. The crazy soulful ones with dreams who are willing to fail in order to discover something new.

I suppose that's really the meaning of being intelligent.. To be open-minded in all directions but firm on your own beliefs from experience enough to identify you from a crowd. The body is a weapon of the mind, and by understanding your own, you tune the strings to your own mortal instruments.. Creating survival in any terrain. :P

Exceptionally well thought out and even more clearly articulated and couldn't agree with you more. :)
Gandhi said, "Compassion is the highest form of intelligence."
I always found it interesting that he phrased the words so. 'intelligence' instead of a variety of other words he could have used in that exact spot and made an equally good quote. Well, maybe not equally.. and I'm sure it became a 'quote' afterwards. :)
Anyways I digress.. if you feel like it, msg me, because any stimulating conversation is welcome, provided you meant every word you said of course... everything u said struck a chord with me at a personal level. :)

Hmmm.. I'm not sure, but sounds like something he would say though. Not from the theoretical perspective of comparative religious study or any such disciplines but from general observation. At least, given Gandhi's context, it would make sense that he said that.

Mm, I may have mistaken. Also, you seem interesting. Care to introduce yourself or would you prefer PM? :P
TrueZetetic
Introductions? PM only. :) And thank you for the compliment. Your ideas seem to parallel my own from what I've read so far.. :)

Intelligence in the literal definition is being able to make connections in reality,

Oh, man.. I'm missing out on a good one. Ah.. Long reply. Just going to apologise already.

1) I can somewhat see what you mean Rev, though I do not see that strong correlation between identification and actualization. I guess I could summarise wisdom as applied experience.

2) Are you referring to the principles similar of Taoism? Spirituality is a nice little road.. I am iffy to ever use it as anything tangible because it's too indefinite, extremely subjective and usually exaggerated.
AnonR
Yep, my purpose here is no longer valid, i'll be leaving now

Oh thank God! I am so use to conversing with those who aren't as intelligent or well endowed in the brain area. It's sad to me that knowledge and the pursuit of intelligence isn't so high on the list of endeavors these days like I think it should be. I often find myself contemplating the end of society due to lack of education. So, how are you?
Lonedom · 22-25, F
Oh, I see how you feel. Well, there are lambs, shepherds, and wolves in this world.. All useful and useless. Oh, I'm dandy as a lion. Yourself, plum?
cheesecake27
Are you saying I'm useless?! -Lol- I cannot complain. Though having a toddler to chase while currently growing a minion inside of you can be simultaneously tiring and restless, life is good! I am enduring the constant changes and fluctuations of motherhood, yet somehow am still able to maintain what's left of my sanity. Life is an adventure, wouldn't you agree? I could use a vacation, however. A good swim in an area not deprived of water would be nice. Dang summer heat! This drought is going to kill us! Not literally, but I think you catch my drift. Am I rambling? I do that from time to time...
Lonedom · 22-25, F
Haha, of course not. We're a balance of useful and useless behaviour, would you not say? A minion growing inside you and another one to chase after; The complete excersise course of motherhood. And you're rambling, yes. But you're rambling is nice. This heat really is wrathful. I hope some parts of the bible happen.. A nice flood would replenish all this weather well. :P

Why don't you like to fk?
Lonedom · 22-25, F
No need to bother. S/he's just trolling. Just a silly remark really, hm?
cloakedgarden

That is IF we get married. You know things majorly change after the fact and you are bound by some legal document to another person. You essentially give up your freedom and independance after you get married and even more so if you have kids.
cloakedgarden
well you should message me, i too love having those types of conversations
Lonedom · 22-25, F
Mm, feel free whenever.
