I Have a Question

When did we change the spelling of REALIZE....realise????

It was Mr. Webster (of Websters Dictionary) who set the trend off. He was very much of the opinion that Americans were so important they should have a language of their own. And as a result he compiled said dictionary and deliberately changed the spelling of countless wirds (pun intended) to make them instantly recognisable.
What bit him in the arse was the fact that so few Americans had ever seen a dictionary that most of them never realised the spelling had been changed and just blindly accepted it as fact.

"Realize" looks retarded, tbh. Everyone I know spells it "Realise".
The British spell it with an “s”—and they had the English language first.
Ergo, we Americans are the ones who changed it.
