I Have a Question

[image deleted]Any one know what these critters are?
[image deleted]We just moved in. JUST moved in, and We wake up to this.
If anyone lives in the Ft.Smith Arkansas area and knows about renter rights laws, lemme.know what can be done.

We moved from So.Cal. to Arkansas. First rain fall.we had, ... B O O M! Tree falls right out of the Earth, right across our place - had to move.
This is our second month in Arkansas, second move, second near disaster.

(The larvae is just the tip of the ice Berg.
The owner rented us a place with a.stove that works sometimes, and air conditioner foul with filth in the filter, scratched up floors, f&$ed walls floors ceiling, roaches, and various bugs, gaps in this door and window jams so.big, we can enjoy the out doors with the doors and windows shut.
Some.of the electric sockets work, some dont
Still love Arkansas.

you need to move!! if they are charging more then 100 a month rent they are over charging! looks like maggots from the flies and they will become flies. if your stuck there take out the filter and wash it rinse it dry it then put it back in air conditioner. . need to have clean filter in air conditioner.

@Virgo79 My in-laws got some strong insecticides; stuff you can't buy in stores.
trackboy · 22-25, M
@Virgo79 bleach would be nice . also need soap or detergent to wash it well getting all the dirt out of the filter. the filters in window air conditioners are just simple screens. easy to clean.

@Groofydorkgerdo there is garbage or food somewhere they are feeding on. you keeping garbage can outside so they cant feed on garbage in house?? previous tenants left something somewhere they are feeding on. your going to have to look under everything to find what they are eating. make sure to check drain pan at bottom of fridge. you will have to check behind everything. in every cabinet and drawer. pull out every piece of furniture and turn it over and check under. lots of cleaning to do. you can get foam weather stripping to fill in the window and door gaps. get power outlets cheap at walmart to replace the non working outlets. make sure to turn off the circuit breaker for that circuit before changing the outlet.

can’t tell the size but is there any carpet in your house?
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
@NiftyWhite My in-laws are coming g with STRONG pesticides, (stuff isn't available in stores, not even to every day, run of the mill exterminators.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Groofydorkgerdo id get the pros. honestly. without knowing what kind of insect it is, it’s hard to determine how to treat an infestation. it’s a little like going to to a doctor. if you have a chest infection you need an antibiotic to kill a lung bacteria - getting a drug for a vaginal infection, while still a drug, isn’t gonna be useful - especially if you don’t even have a vagina.
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
@NiftyWhite My son-in-law is a pro, he does landscaping for the Ft.Smith military something or another. That's where he is getting the stuff from, providing, his boss can get a release for it.

I agree it's a larva of some sort. For future reference, here is a site with photos of 556 insects indigenous to Arkansas.

@Groofydorkgerdo I'll see what I can find out.
@Groofydorkgerdo Not good news.
Renters have few rights under Arkansas law. This article was published May 7, 2017 at 1:10 a.m. Arkansas is the only state in the country where landlords do not have to provide a habitable dwelling. Landlords are also not required to make repairs, unless it is stated in the lease agreement.May 7, 2017
@Mamapolo2016 Thank you, Mamapolo
Looks like maggots to me. Extremely hard to kill. Something must have died inside your home to cause these to appear. Ewwwww.
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
@CereBellum We don't know, we moved in here on the first.
It may be.
@Groofydorkgerdo Yeah, maybe check under your house if you are brave. You may never go down there again though. Ewww.
wakanda4eva · 26-30, F
I think it's an oversized maggot. KILL the beast!!!
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
@wakanda4eva we are infested with them. The floor literally looks like it is like poka dotted with them.

Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
@Virgo79 I don't know, I wouldn't doubt it.
The people that leaves here before were meth head slobs, and the labors didn't clean up muh.
But now I hafeta ask, what WHERE ya gonna say?
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@Groofydorkgerdo I think she said it's in Arkansas.
Made something funny come to mind, but it would store a bunch up if I said it public.
Just something funmy.
