Do you really care for others?

I can honestly say I do. I can come across as quite heartless and uncaring at first, but that’s some kind of programmed reaction, I don’t know where it comes from. Upon analysis though after I’ve been quite honestly awful with someone, I feel guilt and try to put my self in their shoes. Some people I’ve been quite unapologetic with in the past and I feel a deep sense of guilt from that but as time has past I’ve slowly become a better person. I’ve still got a hell of a long way to go, but when all is said and done, I really do care. I’ve said and done some awful things I wish I could take back, even recently, I’ve hurt people, physically and mentally and I hate my self for it afterwards. I try to tell my self it was with good intentions or for the betterment of someone else, logically, but in my heart I know I’ve done so much wrong and there is no making up for that. I do care though, deeply
