I Have Had Vivid Nightmares And Repetitive Nightmares
A lot of my dreams have my character dying in various ways. Including but not limited to, dying of old age, being eaten alive, slaughtered, falling to his death, drowning, attacked by swarms of insects and the like and even had his allies turn against them. And some of them have a feel that look like they belong in a video game. Specifically the ones set in the broken down house setting, aquarium, zoo or pet store as well as the factory.
Basically imagine that the ‘game’ in this case is basically a Prince Of Persian/Tomb Raider style adventure game where my character has to avoid various traps, but he has only just one life left and he doesn’t have any items. Except for a few which only do small amounts of damage or recover his health. I’m using Rick O’Connell from the Mummy as him since it is the most fitting choice. Imagine that he is in an aquarium and he has to get his way across to the other side without being attacked, if he gets attacked he’ll lose health. Halfway down the middle of the aquarium there is a section for deep sea fishes that seems to be there for some reason, which isn’t explained. And next to that, a tank full of piranha-like creatures. Now, he has to make his way pass this section without being attacked or eaten but he has to be careful.
He holds a stone in his pocket, which is one of the only items he has to defend himself and the flood from earlier has increased. The tanks start shaking as the glass starts breaking, the mutated deep sea-fish leaping out of the water and chasing him, becoming able to walk on land, followed by the piranha-like creatures jumping out and trying to eat him. Luckily he keep those at bay with a few ‘spells’ he has, but the rest..he’s out of luck. There is a flood alarm near-by, so he goes over to press it as he leaps out of the way while trying to avoid getting attacked.
He’s almost there as he reaches for the emergency exit but is unfortunately trapped inside, and before he can even do anything about it…a mutated mother anglerfish monster emerges, this is the final ‘boss’ of this level. He tries to fight her off but she lunges at him and his health is slowly drained out. A couple of seconds later he collapses and he dies. But yet he arrives back at the spot he was left back before he died and has somehow been resurrected, to face that boss one more time.
