I Think We're Headed For World War 3

Will women have to fight on the front line? What about being captured and tortured like shown on the news
I refuse to fight for the government. I’ll see you guys in Canada. ✌️
they are the ones making the dress code for their people ,,, since the mid 70's
The '70s, you say? Why do you think that was? Let's step back a bit.

We took over Iran back in 1953 in a coup d'Etat, ending decades of legitimate democratic rule. The USA oppressed the Muslim majority and violently put down protests for 26 years, and otherwise took away their freedom and culture. The government you're referring to only rose up in the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and even that was relatively benign given what had happened, despite the whole hostage crisis thing.

During the period of high tensions, Saddam Hussein invaded the Islamic Republic in a brutal and genocidal campaign through Iran where they used gas bombs and annihilated the Kurds. Hundreds of thousands of Iranian soldiers died, as well as over one hundred and fifty thousand civilians. This is relevant because the U.S. fed Iraq information throughout the campaign; we helped the guys who were unprovokedly attacking and murdering everyone.

When we see an American flag, we remember all the brave men and women who fought against the Third Reich and against the Soviet Union. We think of freedom and cultural diversity. When they see one, they remember those assholes who killed their great uncles and aunts for disagreeing, and helped the Iraqis gas their parents to death.
We did not invade their country till after 9 11 and that was to free the Iraq's and put the fires out I Kuwait ,,
Iraq and Iran had nothing to do with 9/11; that was the Saudi government. And frankly, over a quarter million Iraqi citizens died from that invasion. They were freed from this mortal coil, but I don't think that's what we should want for them. As for Kuwait, the situation was fine. Hussein knew that another invasion wouldn't be feasible because of the US and its allies. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
then the terroist groups attacked from Afghanistan ,, so those were protecting our people ,,
That's fair.

@MorbidCynic Canada has banned Americans from entry due to the Orange Clown's COVID-19 mismanagement.
I never said I would enter legally. @kaf9292

Back in WW2 hundreds of thousands Russian women fought in the front line as battlefield medics, tank drivers and commanders, anti aircraft gunners, infantry, snipers, bomber and fighter pilots etc. It is likely that if WW3 does happen it will be different to those in the past.

@Barrelracer1 I never asked her. But she explained to me that every able-bodied Israeli citizen over 18 is trained and serves.

Women who want equal rights will have to fight if there is ever another world war. They will be drafted, just as young men are drafted.

@Barrelracer1 As a veteran I know that war is never enjoyable unless you have "bone spurs".
4meAndyou · F
@kaf9292 🤭 Very true. But one point I failed to make to her, was that she can try to select the area for which she is best suited. Some women can serve the military as clerks, or working at the quartermaster with supplies. Still others can learn computer skills, or can become mechanics. Not all women will be required to go into combat.
BlueVeins · 22-25
If there is a third world war, nobody is getting drafted. You might get captured and tortured, but probably by the droves of bandits and looters who will roam the countryside after the cities are vaporized and the ground beneath them, glassed. Nobody will be free from the bloodshed and blight, even if we want them to be.
TexChik · F
There isn't going to be a WWIII...but there may be conflicts...Like with Iran.
MissTaken · 36-40, F
@TexChik WW1 was supposed to be the War to end all Wars but it didn’t turn out that way - while I think WW3 is unlikely it’s never sensible to assume it can’t happen
TexChik · F
@MissTaken they didn’t have nuclear weapons , satellite surveillance , F35 strike fighters , and cruise missiles . The military advantage belongs to the US and it’s allies in the region .
MissTaken · 36-40, F
@TexChik Big budgets and lots of tech don’t automatically guarantee military success - The Vietnam war proved that

If we’re headed for WWIII, then yeah, I think women would have to get involved too. Not everyone is cut out for front-line combat, though, including many men.

The truth of it is that we are a 100% volunteer service and even if we go to conventional war it is extremely unlikely that the draft will be instated because it just isn't necessary anymore. We already have the largest active duty military in the world with capabilities that far exceed that of any of our adversaries.

That being said, if a woman does volunteer to serve in the military she understands and accepts all the risks that are associated with it. We are all well aware of the potential dangers of our profession.

Most females also will not be serving in a combat arms capacity. The number of women in the infantry is extremely low, and by that I mean less than 100, all of those volunteers again. Of course in the Marines and Army there is potential always to serve in combat but the danger is there for both men and women. It's a known risk, but of course is mitigated to the lowest possible.

However, there are plenty of female war heroes that understood the danger and acted accordingly and with great honor.

The fact of the matter is that women fought for the right to serve in all capacities of the armed services, and have won. It is still completely volunteer based and nobody is forced to serve and women must still meet minimum standards and pass required training to be accepted into combat arms fields.

Finally, if someone is so inclined to join the military and serve in combat, that's an honorable path and is just one of the sacrifices we all make daily in service to our country and its citizens. It's not for everybody, and that's okay. Americans sleep in peace at night because rough people stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

If it comes to war, yes, women will fight. 😔🤗
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Montanaman actually working on an army base the way some of our service members are today I'd rather have a few of the females than the males
Montanaman · M
@MarineBob True that.👍
helensusanswift · 26-30, F
That's equality for you. I think the most vocal of the feminists should be first to volunteer. Then the idiot politicians who want a war - let them take point when the infantry go in.
It wouldn't be a new phenomenon. Women, especially in the Philippines and the Pacific, at the onset of the war where territory was overtaken by Japanese forces, US and Australian military women fell captives to the invading forces. Nothing new. These were primarily non combatants(Nurses) but many suffered harshly or died under the Japanese.

Well, the thing is she is not being conscripted. If she has doubts, then she should forget her plans. Military members GO IN HARM'S WAY!@Barrelracer1

I dont think they will its unlikely but its possible.

@Girlyfriendcollecting women in combat has been a reality for some time now, and the future looks promising too. But of course, war is inevitable, but for our troops sake, we hope for peace. 🤗

The next major war will be fought with drones. The controllers will be miles away from the battles. So you will be safe.
@Shannon27 There has been a world war ever since the last one. The battle field is economics and the ammunition is tax money. The rest is only a side-show to keep frightened "commoners" pouring out tax money for "salvation".
Don't worry if world war 3 does break out we will all get nuked into oblivion so you won't know shit about it so don't stress yourself
MarineBob · 56-60, M
I thought that was what the women told congress and the president a few years ago.

I'm hoping that if President Trump takes down the Iranians a peg or two... it will avoid their teaming up with China and Russia... and that combination could cause World War 3. It might be the greatest preventive strike in history.

@SW-User Totally Agree
At times women are considered spoils of war.
mountainman1234 · 70-79, M
@Barrelracer1 it could I will not lie but it would be not different between male or female ,,, the best thing to do would be to fight to the death better than what you are thinking about ,,,

Won’t happen
There’s no compulsory draft. Men don’t have to fight on the front line.
@Kimcat Yes. But for 47 years, it hasn’t been.

@Kimcat Agreed. Personally, I don’t support compulsory conscription for anyone. Especially when our armed forces have turned able-bodied volunteers away based upon things like sexual orientation and now gender identity, neither of which interfere with the ability to serve.
