Well, let her know how you feel, you don't have to suffer in silence. Fix the lousy neighbor and that will be one problem behind you.

As for Fb, I have heard people complain about it, but I don't see why anyone should have problem staying away when they want to, just don't click the app. I mean it's a good site to check on friends and family, but who likes to do that everyday?...I don't. I have Fb but i have not been on it for 4 months now, I should even check it today. You can do the same, just find something else to look at, DYI videos on youtube, watch new series, call a friend, hit the gym, learn new recipe or join a meetup group. :)

@fources: I don't know what to say to my neighbor. She's been there forever and I just moved next door also she's not really doing anything wrong (if I'm honest)... I work a very odd shift and she's only up making noise during the day which I also hear the kids playing outside... I think part of it is an irrational dislike for her, I didn't like her the first time I met her so it's probably just me but even so living next to someone you dislike is no fun at all.

Also, I wish I had your restraint. I have wasted 5-6 hours a day on fb. How? I wish I knew? haha I think it's getting easier as 1. I'm noticing how destructive it is and 2. They must have changed their algorithm so I am getting the same few stories too often come thru my feed and so before there was a constant stream of new posts now there is less and less new stuff and so it's beginning to be too repetitive and that is helping me realize how bad it actually is and is way less "fun". It took my rose colored glasses off. Yay!

Your advice is good. I did join skillshare which I love and have done some projects that I need to do more of. I also joined FMTV and GAIA.com and I watch a lot of their stuff also. I have been to several meetups and as someone who has been a hermit for the last 2 years... I do need to get out of the house more so that is on my list to so as I start feeling better. I did join a gym for water aerobics classes and although it's only 2 days a week, I should go more often and use the facility more; the pool and the gym. I also find myself quite productive at the library so that needs to be added to my daily schedule as well. I'm working on it. In progress. haha

What was your usual daily routine like before you came across this book?

@lockedupforgood: Absolutely nothing. I would usually begrudgingly drag myself out of bed but only after an excessive amount of time scrolling thru fb and then hating myself for the rest of the day for wasting so much time. Then I'll rush to work, which is weird cause I work from home so I should not feel rushed. I do that and then I just clumsily go thru the rest of my day... typically watching TV or reading or napping... totally avoiding my life, hoping these activities will help be avoid feeling my depression and unsatisfaction with my life. That's quite futile.

I joined the YMCA, hoping that that would get me to at least leave the house 3 days a week for water aerobics. I love swimming so that would motivate me to get out of the house which I've managed to make it to 1/2 of my classes in the past 3 months since I've joined. That's pretty good actually. My day has zero structure at all and I am always tired but that's probably my depression and my poor health. There is never enough time if you have no energy and that is the story of my life.

I've been toying with the idea of deleting my fb. That seems to be a major time suck and never makes me feel happy afterwards! I've been reading others people's accounts of what happened to them when they deleted their social media and they report feelings better, happier, more productive, better relationships, after the initial withdrawl, not feeling left behind, out of the loop- all was better than good and so that seems to be my next natural progression... Along with adding a better work routine/schedule and doing a fruit and veggie fast.

That's way more than you asked for. 😎

@aniave: The more the better. :D

Yeah you should really just delete the FB. I did it. It does feel far better. In fact, SW is the only platform where I am active but only for a few. Don't get disheartened if you keep deactivating and then activating the account back. You don't succeed at anything at once.

I asked you that because I am having a mess of a routine myself. I can't sleep at night. And there's too much commotion after 7 am in my house after which it seems to be a waste of time. So I rather sleep at 5 am in order to be productive but waking up earlier is a better option if only one could sleep at time.

Yeah, The fb thing has gotten pretty bad. I have a similar situation. I work nights so I sleep during the day and I just moved and my new place is way too close to my neighbor and I seem to live close to the loudest fucking person on the block. She never goes anywhere and she sits outside day and night and is soooo loud! She yells at cars as they drive down the street. she yells at people walking down the street, she talks on the phone loudly, she yells at her dog, she plays loud music and is just a fucking nightmare and it's affecting my sleep and in turn affecting my schedule. It's during the day and so I really can't complain but I wish she would take her ass inside. It's not like our street is that freakin exciting... smdh LOL
