I Love Films That Make Me Think About Life

Cemetery of splendour (Thailand, 2015)

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ohB_Y3z_Gk]

Two women volunteer at a hospital were Thai soldiers suffer bouts of narcolepsy that cannot be explained. One of them was a student there when the building was a school. The other can read people's minds.

Near the hospital lie the ruins of an old palace where bloody fights for power took place. Could be the ghosts of those who fought be sucking the soldiers' blood to keep on fighting, and hence narcolepsy?

But why?...but why not?
Watching the film we wonder how all the time 'why'. But why not?
A long WTF (with some scenes that are really WTF inside the WTF)...but why not?

And if there is not WTF...then what? The burden of our past?

One of the volunteers may tell the answer when she says:
"In the heart of the kingdom
other than rice fields
there is nothing".
