I Am Upset

The coronavirus outbreak just began globally. Number of infected cases is still rising in my city. No more home office next week, need go back to work in the office. 2 weeks ago when I went back to the office, there were 2 suspected cases within an hour in the office (not in my block) and staff were evacuated.

1 person's decision (or 1 small group of people's decision), putting everyone at risk.

Life is cheap in some places on earth.

This issue is showing how huge the lack of leadership is in our world. There are too many unanswered questions:

Are quarantines really effective?

Is it useful to stop flights from and to places with a high number of infected people? If so, why are there so many cases in Italy when it was one of the first countries to stop flights to China?

Why is the virus so deadly in Iran? Is it really the same virus?

Are masks really effective? Which ones? For how long?

Lots of questions, very few or no reliable answers, and lots of misinformation and conspiracy theories online.

People are so confused, and they choose a 'I do it as I please attitude', since there are no guidelines. I cannot blame them.

@novembermoon I have but I am still worried. Even with mask on, there are still gaps. Some doctors said the virus could be transmitted through air, some said no and said it s through saliva. However, saliva could be very small droplets or vaporized and dissolved/mixed in the air. So I believe it s also transmitted through the air.

@alan20 here most people with poor hygiene eg. spitting on the street, refusing to wear masks, went to china and came back despite what happens there, are elderly people. They don't care if they will carry the virus and spread to other people.

@alan20 people dont wear masks if they are healthy there. But the problem now is, people who carry the virus don't wear mask and they have no symptoms and do not know they carry the virus, which will infect the healthy people around.
