I feel the exact same way. I do sometimes participate in a conversation with them, but once it starts getting weird and uncomfortable I just stop. Most of the time i do ignore the older ones cause like you mentioned it starts to feel like I'm talking to my dad or something and yes, 18-21 is my real age. I am 21 years old going on 22 in January.

I use my real age... but twice this week men had lower 30's on their profile but it turned out they were in their Late 50's/60's. I caught on with the whole "all my kids are grown". And it's like, they're not ashamed or anything, they're like "I don't like talking to woman my age and girls your age done talk to me with my real age listed. But I feel young at heart."

Such bs.

I am indeed, as my profile says, 71 years old. Who would lie about that? I do feel young at heart in some respects; I'm an aging hippie who was in San Francisco in the 60s. But in other respects, I am feeling my age. I need translations for all those little letters the young use on here. And I sometimes marvel at how attitudes and cultural perspectives change over the years.

I think it's fun to communicate across the age gaps. It's interesting. But I can also understand that many young people would not find an old lady interesting.

I like to think my posts and responses will tell more about me than a number, although for the record I will state I am NOT 100+

Yes, I am actually 17 yrs. Old. I don't lie about anything on here. Cause why should I? I'm an outcast and don't get to be with friends or other people that much. And there's so much to know about me, most of which my friends don't even know about. So why not share the things that I don't get to talk to most people about.

I do use my real age. I understand where you're coming from, although I don't mind talking to people who are older. It's just that some of them become flirtatious and it's awkward telling them I'm not interested and trying to keep things friendly.
