Yeah, that's pretty much what differentiates clinical depression from normal sadness. Sadness is a rational response to real-world events, whereas depression is-- basically by definition-- an irrational and disproportionately negative emotional response.

I sometimes do, especially when I get up late. However, I know the reason behind that; because of lack of cortisol (adrenal gland fatigue).
