I Love Movies, All Movies

If there are people out here that like crime-dramas'
Then I can only advice you to go and watch "The Irishman" from Martin Scorsese.

Since it's a Netflix only movie, you won't find it in all the theaters. Because there are a lot of issues with big theaters buying the rights to show the movie. It will be on netflix later on. But if you like to watch a real epos on the big screen... this is an absolute "must see" movie.

The old gang is back together... I didn't even know Joe Pesci was still alive. 馃槄
Even at this age... these guys can really act.

They spent $160 million on the special effects to make the actors look younger.

@Kwek00 I saw an interview with Scorcese, De Niro, and Pacino where they discussed it. De Niro is 76; Pacino is 79.

@Byron8by7 oh... I've not really followed the interviews around this picture. I hardly ever got to theaters, and a friend of mine sometimes invites me to go together. His friends ussually go to stuff that blows up (like all the time) and don't mind going to movies with a bit more drama. And I actually don't mind paying a ticket if I know it's going to be a good movie with some quality (or a movie that is like a guilty pleasure).

So he asked me to go to this one... and since it was Martin Scorsese and a crime-drama I was okay with it. I didn't look at the actors, didn't look at the trailer. Just knew the name of the director and the name of the movie and that Robert de Niro would be in it. And it kinda blew me away on how good it actually was. But I do have a weak spot for crime-drama (Godfather, Goodfellas, Hoffa, Casino, Donnie Brasco, Once upon a time in America, Sleepers, ... etc). And seeing these old guys play their rolls as they did, was pretty fascinating.

But that old actors can act, isn't new to me... I also like the Clint Eastwood pictures that he makes himself (the mule, grand torino, milion dollar baby). But it's just fun seeing these old heroes do what they do best. It's not like going to a concert from "the animals" because of nostaliga... and then getting hit in the face that the guys just can't play a good concert annymore 馃槄

@Kwek00 I can't imagine that it would be anything but excellent, considering the talent involved. I would love to see it in a theater. (I don't have Netflix, and the theater experience is so much better than TV.)
