I Want People to Share Their Poetry

The evening breeze caresses my face,
A leaf flutters down from a nearby tree,
Its existence ended.
A brooklet flows by close to my feet,
Its passage through time marked by a rustling, gurgling sound.

The here and now is all that matters, has to be with the impermanence of existence.
In its way sadness has a certain beauty,
But one that cries out to be shared with another soul.
The sadness not so enjoyable when it can only be experienced alone.
The only pain-deadener - memory.

Hello would you like to chat? I'm pretty bored and like sharing experiences

@Dariqueen Just seen yours, as well! My internet connection has been playing strange tricks over the last few days. Many of my ideas come in the middle of the night but in the cold light of day seem best put back to rest. Beethoven often claimed he did much of his composing in his sleep, so it's not a new phenomenon. Are you familiar with Matthew Arnold's "Dover Beach"? The early part is one of my favourite poems. The sea, a light twinkling in the distance - have always been magical for me.

@alan20 Nope, but I just read it! It’s so beautiful, there’s many people more talented than I.

Also, it’s interesring you say that because the waking in the middle of the night thing isn’t something that just happens to me. A good friend of mine who also writes poetry says she writes when she can’t sleep and her thoughts are rolling around in her head.

@Dariqueen My favourite Englsh poet is Matthew Arnold and my favourite English composer happens to be Malcolm Arnold. He was schizophrenic but at times very lyrical. He wrote the music for hundreds of English movies from the fifties and sixties including most of the Hayley Mills ones, if you've come across her.

Very nice. Love the feel of it.
Novaturient81 · 41-45, F
@alan20 I try. Not really good though.

@Novaturient81 Nor is mine. I'm a musician not a poet. I'd like to read some of yours.

@alan20 Maybe one if these days I'll post something. ☺

Breathtaking! *sigh*

@alan20 This is very much sensuous though, it mustn't be written in erotic form to produce such!

I'm such a nerd and love the word, permanence, in whatever form...outside of the box choices!
alan20 · M
@SW-User For ne the past is permanent. True eroticism cannot be boring and achieving that is very difficult. I think Debussy's music comes closest. A great performance of Clair de Lune, for instance.

@alan20 Very true. I strive for true eroticism and just haven't mastered it yet...
