I Used to Be a Christian

Well worth a read - http://www.debunking-christianity.com/

I believe it's rather arrogant of us to assume we know for sure when there are no facts to support either argument. Our beliefs, either way, are simply a matter of faith.
The more adamant we are, the more arrogant!

@asnorkler You tried making some irrelevant points and made it clear you didn't want me to respond to them. Why bother making them if you're not prepared to defend them?

If you're not interested in what I have to say, don't try engaging me in debate.

Meh, just another site that bashes Christians. There's no real thinking involved.

@Sicarium Scientific theories are explanations of observed events. They are rigourly tested and can be used to make predictions - as Einstein's theories predicted Black Holes.

Where did I even suggest I can read the hearts and minds of people? I know some "christians" are only pretending to believe because they've explicitly told me that. We all have a good laugh at how easily other (real) christians are taken in.

I'm not simply saying "they do it too", I'm pointing out that what they say about other beliefs also applies to theirs but they just can't see it.

Predictions do not equal proof of existence, doesn't matter how you want spin it. By your own standard, anyone who believes in anything science related that has not been proven yet is an idiot. That's the standard you created.

Right here...
There are some intelligent people who have found claiming to be christian and going through the motions can give them certain advantages
I could say the exact same thing about you.

I don't know how else to say it, I'm not interested in your line of attack. It isn't rational or logical. It's great in an echo chamber, useless outside of that. Since that's all you seem interested in, good night.

@Sicarium No, that was the standard you created and projected onto me. Science is based on evidence. I said scientific theories allow predictions to be made. Some of those predictions will be of things that have not, at the time been proven. Subsequent proof of their existence goes to support the theory.

As I said, some intelligent people have explicity told me they just pretend to be christians because they've found it can give them certain advantages in some areas. Did you miss that bit?

If you're not interested in what I have to say, I don't understand why you even bothered to respond.
